District
The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District is the largest in the San Gabriel Valley and one of the largest suburban school districts in the state.
The district is governed by a five-member board of education and employs approximately 1,500 certificated and 1,200 classified employees. The district's total operating budget exceeds $360 million.
Goals
The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District is dedicated to maximizing the talents, interests, and abilities of all its students, enabling them to meet the challenges and opportunities of a changing world. The district curriculum is based on the California State Frameworks. Classroom instruction is integrated, thematically applied, technologically integrated, and sensitive to the individual learning styles of students and the needs of the multicultural community we serve.
Demographics
The District serves approximately 20,000 pre-K-12 and 20,000 adult education students in the diverse communities of City of Industry, Hacienda Heights, La Puente and portions of Valinda and West Covina.
